About Libya

Libyan traditions

language

Arabic is the official language in Libya, and it is the official language for general transactions and dealings, followed by Tamazight and Taraqi, noting the difference in dialects between its east and west dealings.

Libyan dialect

I divide the Libyan dialect into four sections, southern, eastern, western, and western. The Libyan dialect represents a link between the dialects of the East and the Arab Maghreb. The reason is an easy and open dialect with correct and valid letters, the dialect of the desert people. Its distribution extends within Libya to Brega in the east, Zliten in the west, and from the Gulf of Sirte to Sabha in the south. In the dialect of the central region, it is considered a dialect of extraneous vocabulary and is full of rude Arabic words whose meanings can only be found in Arabic dictionaries.

the culture

Libyans are distinguished by the simplicity of their Arab-African culture and customs. The people of Libya live in a very close-knit society that is characterized by friendliness and respect, even with all these circumstances that they are going through.

If you need help, you can simply ask for help, as according to a study by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) in 2018, Libya ranked first in the Arab world in the most helpful people to strangers.

geography

Location

Libya is located in North Africa overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Its geographical location is characterized by its central location in the African continent. It is bordered to the west by Tunisia and Algeria, to the south by Sudan and Niger, to the east by Egypt and Sudan, and to the north by the Mediterranean Sea.

the climate

Libya's climate is characterized by moderation in general, with hot, dry summers and cool, rainy winters. Divided into five climatic zones, the Mediterranean climate and the desert climate are the most common.

Libya recorded the highest temperature on the planet on September 13, 1922, in the city of Bab Al-Azizia, before it was retracted and considered wrong, according to an investigation conducted by specialists, who says that a novice observer was recording wrong and exaggerated degrees, according to Reuters.

Public morals

Traditional dress

The inventory or traditional Libyan dress for men is white and brown and is worn by the elderly, during the Libyan jihad period against the occupation, when this was the dress of the mujahideen, headed by the Libyan martyr Omar al-Mukhtar. It is a long dress with pants, and over it the “Libyan brake” is a jacket or waistcoat that contains decorations and drawings known as the taron.

The traditional Libyan dress is worn by Libyans most of the time, whether on national occasions or family occasions, holidays, and even in their daily lives, as it is also frequently worn on Friday.

Of course, Libyan dress is not imposed in public or private places, but modest dress is imposed in accordance with Islamic customs and traditions.

Religion

Libya is an entirely "Sunni" Muslim country.

Alcohol and drugs

Buying, selling and using narcotics and alcohol is prohibited and illegal in Libya.

Tourism in Libya

Libya may not be classified as one of the best tourist countries or the first destination for recreation and tourism, but it contains many distinctive places with its charming nature that provide you with relaxation and enjoyment of its scenery, or spending holidays on its beaches in coastal cities, or visiting its dense forests in the Green Mountain.

The Western Mountain is considered a distinctive destination to attract tourists and those looking for a calm and beautiful nature. Libya is distinguished by its different terrain, where temperatures vary between cities and villages. You can visit the Sahara desert, the springs and waterfalls of the Green Mountain, or the beaches of Ras al-Hilal and the water caves.

The most important thing that distinguishes it is the ease of tourism and residence in it. It was ranked as the cheapest country in the world in terms of living, food, and even tourism.
